Description		    Letter concerning the engagement contract between a rich, beautiful, 30 year old daughter of a wood merchant, and a young man from Zurich. The letter discusses the accuracy of many of the vitals the girl claimed, the amount of the dowry, a heretofore unknown matchmaker, etc...

R. Solomon Zalman b. Dov Pines (1884-1954), was born in Minsk. He was appointed the rabbi of Sislowitz (Svisloch, today in Belarus). He moved to Zurich in the late 20's. An erudite scholar R. Pines authored many works, 8-10 are in print.
