Description		    Text in Hebrew, commentary in Ladino, translated by R. Reuven b. Moses Farhi. Guide for the Holiday of Sukkot based on the famous and controversial 18th century kabbalistic work of homiletics and ethics Hemdat Yamim.

Ladino religious literature had its origins in pre-expulsion Spain, it was only in exile, however, that it really developed. The major original translations include the Book of Psalms (Constantinople, 1540); the Pentateuch (Constantinople, 1547); the Prophets (Salonika, 1572); and a complete translation of the Bible by R. Abraham ben Isaac Assa (Constantinople, 1739–45), which became the most popular text among the Sephardi communities of the East.
