Detailed
Description		    Detailed novellae on tractates Ketubbot and Gittin ascribed to R. Simha Bunim ben Zevi Hirsch Rappaport (d. 1816). The title page, with a decorative frame comprised of several rows of florets, historiated letters, and a floral device, dates the completion of the work to, “the month (Sivan) in which the Torah was given, in the year ‘for a crown of glory’” (Isaiah 28:5). Hiddushei Rashbatz was initially mistakenly credited to Simeon Ben Zemah Duran (Rashbaz, 1361-1444) but from the approbations and introduction it is clear that the work is that of R. Simha Bunim. The approbations are from the rabbis of Fuerth R. Joseph Hass and R. Zechariah Joseph; and from R. Aryeh Leib Kahana Rapaport, R. Aaron ben Moses Mosseson, and R. Jacob Kazellenbogen. There is an introduction from R. Simha Bunim and the text, which is in two columns in rabbinic type, excepting headers and initial words. The volume concludes with a discourse on parshat Emor (200a-200b), likuttim (201a) and errata (201a-202b). Below the colophon is an attractive woodcut.
