The kabbalsit, R. Eliezer Zevi ben Isaac Eizig Judah Jehiel Safrin (c. 1830-1898) was born in Zydaczov. He was the only son of the renowned R. Isaac Eizig Judah Jehiel, who was the son of R. Alexander Sender. R. Eliezer Zevi was stricken with paralysis as a child. He studied under R. Judah Zevi of Razdol, and, in 1874, succeeded his father as rebbe. He placed emphasis on proper appearance, stating that it was improper to pray before the King of Kings disheveled. He insisted that the Zohar be studied before all prayers and that the Talmud and Midrash be studied after prayers. Among his other works are Or Einayin (Przemysl, 1882); Ben Beiti (Przemysl, 1900); and a work on Psalms (Ungvar, 1927). Other works were published more recently by his descendants.
