Detailed
Description
Anti-Zionist polemical pamphlet in the form of a dialogue between a representative of Agudah and a Zionist by R. Mordecai Gerstel. The title page states that “‘In that day will I cause the horn of the house of Israel to bud forth, and I will open your mouth in the midst of them; [and they shall know that I am the Lord]’” (Ezekiel 29:21), ‘There is nothing between this world and the Messianic age except the end of the subjugation to the nations’” (Pesahim 68a).. In place of an author’s name it says that it was brought to press by Mordecai ben ha-Rav from the family Gerstel. Below, in German is the name of M. Gerstel, Wien, and an address IX Lackiereergasse Nr. 9. At the bottom, in Hebrew, is the address of the Menorah press. The text is in a single column in square letters. The dialogue is in respectful terms but from such expressions as “from your words, my friend, it is clear that you expressions include heretical concepts” the nature of the exchange can be understood. The Zionist is also knowledgeable, for his responses are also based on the Talmud, including references to the Jerusalem Talmud.
