Description		    Family letter to his son, R. Hillel Medalje, in the Hebron Yeshiva, Jerusalem, verso contains short note from the mom.

R. Sherariah Judah Loeb b. Jacob Eidel Medalje was Rabbi in several noted communities before his appoinment in 1905 to the Witebsk rabbinate. An erudite scholar, he was an associate of the Rebbe of Lubavich, participant of the 1910 Petersburg Conference, founding member of the Agudah in Katowitz 1912. He was murdered in 1938.
