Detailed Description |
|
On the principles of the wisdom of the soul. The title Mazevet Even is from “a pillar of stone” (Genesis 35:14). There is a memorial (dedication) page, dated 4 Tamuz 690 (Sunday, June 22, 1890) to Hannah Keila, the daughter of R. Gershom Ginsburg and wife of R. Moses Aryeh Leib Friedland. At the bottom of the page are the titles of other works written by R. Danzig, namely Bet Yitzhak, Ba’er Yitzhak, and Yesod ha-Ikkarim on Humash. The author, an erudite scholar, subsequently published many more works including respona. There is an introduction from the author and then the text which is comprised of twenty two parts. The text is accompanied by glosses entitled Tavnit Yad. The text is in a single column in a square letters. |
