A polemic presented as an exchange of ideas between a religious Jew and a freethinker by R. David Saloman Epstein. The title page is followed by a statement of the books purpose, namely, that it presents two concepts or positions in the form of two Jews, brothers in fact and religion, one observant, the second irreligious, both representing extreme positions, but at the end coming to some resolution. R. Epstein further makes known that it is his desire that the reader complete the work, and forbids any quote or position being repeated out of context. Every Jewish home should have a copy of this work, in order that they understand the two viewpoints represented here. There are opening remarks and then the text, which begins with opening remarks from the Haredi. Ha- Vikuah ben ha-Hofshi ve-he-Haredi be-Erez Israel is written from a religious perspective, representing the orthodox position.
Nevertheless, the non-religious Jew is given ample opportunity to present his arguments. At the end of the volume are errata and, on the last page, the names of three other works by R. Epstein ready for press. The book is in its original wrappers. The front cover has a photograph of R. Epstsein, and below it his name and that he was born in Jerusalem in 1878.
