Description		    Only edition. 88 pp. plus added title wrappers, 233:154 mm., wide margins, light age staining, some chipping. A very good copy loose in the original wrappers.

Description		    Responsa in the matter of a woman who was granted a divorce, one year after marriage, on the discredited certification of a doctor that the husband was incapable of performing male functions. The grantor of the divorce, R. Judah Eliakim Goldberg, states in his responsa that an additional consideration for granting the divorce was the offer of a substantial sum by the woman's father. R. Goldberg (b. 1855) was born in Kelm and immigrated to the United States in 1888. He served as rabbi of the Hovevei Torah congregation in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn.

A sharp polemic responsa was written by R. Zevi Hirsch Friedman refuting R. Goldberg's granting and his reasoning (New York 1924).
