Detailed
Description
Collection of liturgical and kabbalistic songs and poems by an unknown scribe. Final few ff., following the index, contain the Benedictions for the wedding and circumcision ceremonies following the Yeminite rites. Many of the songs do not appear in Davidson's massive index nor are the listed in Mahon Ben Zvi's database. Yeminite liturgies date back to the time of the Second Temple. For hundreds of years the Jewish communities followed their traditional ways of secular and religious life, not being influenced by external trends and currents. Many of the hymns presented in this work are unknown to other Jewish communities.
