Detailed
Description
Halakhic commentary on Yoreh De’ah by R. Jacob ben Hayyim Eilenberg. On the title page R. Eilenberg writes that he has entitled this work Minhah Belulah (meal offering, var. ref.) because in it he has mixed the the words of the Tur, Bet Yosef, and Shulhan Arukh on Yoreh De’ah, together with other halakhic authorities, both earlier and later sages, and the responsa of the ge’onim. The title page has a device of a bird on a basket of fruit. This woodcut also appears at the end of the book. Despite the fact the title page states in large bold letters that it was printed in Amsterdam some authorities credit the book to Offenbach, suggesting that the location on the title page is counterfeit. There are two pages of approbations, and an introduction from R. Eilenberg. The text, in a single column in rabbinic letters, begins with the laws of shehita and concludes with the laws of avelut. The volume concludes with an index.

R. Jacob ben Hayyim Eilenberg was from Cracow. His other works are Yesharesh Ya’akov, and Toledot Ya’akov.
