On the never resolved, to this day, issue of carrying on the Sabbath in New York City. Many responsa, pro and con, have used reams of paper to opine on the subject. The work is a refutatation of R. Joshua Siegel's work Eiruv ve-Hotzoah (NewYork 1908) which permitted carrying in New York City on the Sabbath.
R. Judah David b. Nathan Bernstein (b. 1863) was born in Aleksotas, Lita. He emigrated to the US in 1894 and was a rabbi in Brownsville. |
