Detailed Description |
|
Literaturgeschichte der synagogalen Poesie marks the conclusion of Zunz's pioneering efforts in the field of synagogue poetry. The work based on research of 500 manuscripts, records the history of the paytanim and their works up to 1540. His intention was to present an internal history of this literature, but he did not achieve the fulfillment of this plan. His bent for bibliography and research was stronger than his talent for giving form to historical concepts.
