Engagement contract for Lipman (Leopold Stethner) and the orphan Sheindel (Charlotte Trstichy) on the 19th of Shevet 5626 in Pressburg. The document is signed by the parties and the secretary of the Bet Din, R. Menahem Mendel b. Abraham Katz (d.1867). R. Katz, a disciple and trusted student of the Hatam Sofer, served in this position for 47 years. He was the father in law of R. Aaron David Deutch the author of Goren David. |
