Description		    Novellae on the aggadah in tractate Bekhorot f. 8 based on a series of queries asked of R. Joshua ben Hanina and his successful responses by R. Joshua Isaac ben Jehiel Shapira (1801-73), Rav of Slonim and author of Emek Yehoshua, Nahalat Yehoshua, Avi ha-Nahal, Sefat ha-Nahal, Noam Yerushalim on Seder Zera’im, Mo’ed, and Nashim. There is a lengthy introduction and then the text, which is in two columns in rabbinic type, excepting jeaders and initial letters which are in square letters. Atsat Yehoshua is divided into sixteen ma’amarim (discourses). Each discourse deals with a question posed to R. Joshua ben Hanina by Greek philosophers that he was able to deftly explain and thereby refute them.
