Detailed
Description
Zemirot ha-Erez is an account of the wonderous deeds of R. Hayyim Abulafia in Tiberias. There are approbations from R. Isaac Abualfia, R. Samuel Heller, R. Joseph Judah, R. Samuel Abba, R. Abraham דומ"ץ Ma’adas, and R. Raphael Zilberman, representing both the Ashkenaz and Sefardic communities in Tiberias. The book is comprised of verse and the deeds of R. Abulafia in Tiberias. R. Abulafia was rabbi in Tiberias and responsible for rebuilding the Jewish community there in the mid-eighteenth centuries. The text is in a single column on rabbinic type, excepting headers and initial words which are in square letters. There are several decorative fillers of scenes from Erez Israel, such as the Western Wall, Ma’arat Machpelah, and Kever Rachel.
