Discourses for the entire year by . Sinai ben Elazer Sapir. This is but one part of a larger work, entitled Gezarat Sapir of novellae aggadot. There is no indication that the larger work was published although R. Sapir was the author of a work of responsa. The title page states that this volume is on the two tekufot of Nissan and Tamuz. These precious and desirable discourses are on six months of the year, on the months and on Shabbat on the subject of the month and on the parashat according to the order of th3e weeks. They are of value to everyone “the stupid man shall become wise” (cf. Job 11:12) and a heart with “understanding shall attain to wise counsels. To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;” (Proverbs 1:2-3). The title page further informs that the author is Sinai known as Sapir “couching down between two burdens” (Genesis 49:14) “beside the shepherds’ tents” (Song of Songs 1:8) in Ra’azin. There are approbations reprinted from the first edition as well a new approbation from R. Mordecai Ze’ev Segal Ettingga, followed by R. Sapir’s introduction and then the text. Olat Hodesh consists of twenty-eight discourses beginning with Nissan and concluding with Elul.
