There is a detailed introduction, covering such subjects as speisegesetze (dietery laws), durchfuhrung des religionnsgesetze in kuche und haushalt (implementation of those laws in the kitchen and home), Lichtanzunden am Shabbat und Jomtov (lighting on Shabbat and festivals), Kochrezepte (recipes), Pessachrezepte (Passover recipies), Speisfolgen fur Anstalskuchen (afternoon cakes), and much more. The text has a wealth of diverse recipes, given in a concise but clear manner. Recipes consist, after the title, of the ingredients and then instructions on preparation. Examples of how varied the very numerous recipes are include such unexpected items as Irish stew, kohlpuddong (cabbage pudding), and mohren mit weissen bohnen (carrots with white beans), and spätzle (sparrow).
