Detail Description

Pentateuch with commentary by R. Gabriel Zev ben Jehiel Isaac Margolis (1848-1938). R. Margolis was descended from the Jehiel Heilprin (Seder ha-Dorot 1660–1746) and learned by R. Jacob Barit (1797-1883) in Vilna. He was married to the daughter of R. Nahum Kaplan of Grodno. He served as Av Bet Din in several cities in Lithuania and, after the passing of his father-in-law, in Grodno for twenty-eight years. He also participated in and signed enactments of rabbinic assemblies against Zionism and Mizrahi. R. Margolis accepted a position as Rav in Boston. in 1908 and in 1912 in New York, where he was the rav of Adat Yisrael. He was also the author of a number of works, among them, Agudat Azov (Vilna, 1895) Torat Gavriel (Jerusalem 1912), and Haruzei Margoliot (Jerusalem 1912).

שער נוסף, צבעוני. (בכל חלק): חומש... תורת גבריאל... העת"ר. להפטרות ביאור בשם "גנת אגוז" (עם שערים מיוחדים). למגילות שערים מיוחדים: ספר גנזי מרגליות, והוא באור חמש מגלות... שני החלקים הראשונים נערכו והוגהו על ידי ר' בן ציון אריה ציזלינג. שלושת החלקים האחרונים הוגהו על ידי ר' אברהם אבא גולדברג, נכד המחבר.
