Detail Description

Letter by R. Issiah Asher b. Shalom haKoheb Joles (d. 1943) rabbi of Stryj. His last moments are vividly described by a disciple and Holocaust survivor in Zikhronit Hamaor p. 232. He perished with his wife and seven children at the hand of the murderous Nazis ימ"ש. An erudite scholar he replaced his father in Stryj after he left for Erez Israel. R. Issiah Asher wrote Shemen haRosh, novellae (Stryj 1933).
