Detail Description

Novellae to the Talmud by R. Ephraim b. Samuel Sanvel Heksher (d. 1759), dayyan and President of the Jewish congregation at Altona at the beginning of the eighteenth century. He was also the author of: "Divre Hakamim we-Hidotam," giving the sources and interpretations of many rabbinical laws (Altona, 1743); "Adne Paz," responsa on the Shulhan 'Arukh, especially on Orah Hayyim (ib. 1743, includes part 2 of Livyat Hen, edited by his son R. Issachar).
