Detailed halakhic novellae on all four parts of the Shulhan Arukh by R. Isaac Izik ben Hayyim Auerbach (19th century). The title page describes it as deep novellae to plumb the depths of subjects in all four parts of the Shulhan Arukh and poskim by the well known true gaon, the late R. Isaac Izik Auerbach who served as rabbi in Dobra, Plock, and, after his father's R. Hayyim’s (Divrei Mishpat) death, of Leczyca. Printed with Divrei Hayyim is Mayyim Hayyim, selections from R. Isaac Auerbach’s father on Orah Hayyim and Yoreh De’ah. All arranged by his son R. Meir Auerbach. The title page is not dated nor does it give the place of publication. A number of bibliographies, among them Friedberg and Wiener, list Divrei Hayyim as a Breslau imprint rather than Krotoszyn, neither attribution being certain, although Krotoschin is more commonly accepted today. The verso of the title page has the declaimer against mistaking references to goyim and similar terms as to referring to current day gentiles, and below it a warning against unauthorized reprints. The following page has the introduction of the author’s son, R. Meir. In addition to the novellae noted on the title page there are also halakhic novellae from the author’s brother, R. Eliezer Auerbach (69b-76a) and from R. Menahem Auerbach, av bet din of Ostrog.

The Auerbach family was a distinguished rabbinic family in Poland. R. Hayyim Auerbach (1755–1840) was born in Leszno, Poland, and served there as dayyan. He was rabbi of Leczyca, Poland, from 1818. He wrote Divrei Mishpat (1835), on the Hoshen Mishpat with those by his sons Menahem and Isaac. R. Menahem ben Hayyim (1773–1848) was rabbi of Ostrow, Poland, in 1822. He wrote the introduction to his father's Divrei Mishpat and appended to it some interpretations of the Pentateuch.
