Part I (of II) only, 29,100, 22, 170 ff., quarto, 210:170 mm., nice margins, usual age and damp staining. A good copy bound in contemporary leather over boards, rubbed.
 

Detail Description

Mahzor, for the High Holidays according to the rite Ashkenazim with Judeo-German running translation. This volume, part one of two, has a sumptuous title page comprised of detailed depictions of Moses on the left with the tablets of the law and Aaron on the right with his priestly garments and the ketoret. At the top is a vignette of King David playing the harp with winged cherubim at the side; at the bottom is a vignette Jacob asleep, with angels ascending and descending the ladder to heaven.
