Only edition of this attractively illustrated work on trefot by R. Joel ben Abraham Moses Kaufman (c.1864-1945). The title-page informs that Ma’areh le-Da’at contains twenty-three illustrations showing both the outer and inner limbs of an animal, to enlighten the eyes of those in yeshiva, as well as those who study tractate Hullin and Yoreh De’ah. In addition, R. Kaufman has assembled the pertinent halakhot concerning issur and heter from almost all the halakhic authorities, both earlier and later sages, and indicies for poskim. There is an introduction from R. Kaufman, tables of the images and several pages of simanim of the laws of treifus, and then the text. Ma’areh le-Da’at is arranged by simanim giving clear concise explanations of the subject. At the end of Ma’areh le-Da’at are eleven pages of large clear attractive illustrations, several to a page, helping to clarify the books subject matter.
