Detailed Description:   

Only edition of this commentary on the Haggadah by Hayyim Shalom ben Eliezer Schwartz. The front wrapper, in green, which also serves as the title-page, states that Metika ke-Devusha is a commentary on the Haggadah based on the works of righteous rabbis. The commentary is comprised of four separate components, outstanding discourses from the Shakh (R. Shabbetai ben Meir Ha-Kohen, 1621–1662); a discourse from the gaon R. Akiva Eger (1761-1837); selections and explanations on the Haggadah from rishonim and ahronim and admorim; and selections from the Maharal of Prague (R. Judah Loew ben Bezalel, c. 1512/26 – 1609). The first part of the back wrapper, also in green, lists twenty-six parts of Metika ke-Devusha, that is, the above components and the parts of the Haggadah discussed.
