Commentary and novellae on the Shulhan Arukh Orah Hayyim by R. Gedalia Moses ben Zevi Hirsch ha-Levi. The title page states that it brings and clarifies the words of both earlier and later sages, explaining deep and difficult issues, providing answers and reasons. The title page is particularly noteworthy for all the ornamentation on it. Across the width of the page at the top are two cherubim separated by a crown. The title is given in decorative letters and at the bottom of the page is the printer’s pressmark. The basic form of this marl, with a tent and the printer’s name, was used by previous and later printers in Fuerth. The verso of the title page has approbations from R. Joseph Mastiin Herut of Fuerth, R. Gershon Poliz ben Moses; R. Matthias of Prague; and R. Moses of Hamburg. The text, set intwo columns in rabbinic type, is detailed and comprehensive. It begins with Orah Hayyim 1:1, the laws of arising in the morning, and concludes with the laws of festivals 527. There is an appendix that begins at 533, the laws of intermediate days of festivals and concludes with hilkhot Megillah 636. Starting with Hilkhot Pesah the text is accompanied by the text of the Shulhan Arukh.

R. Gedalia Moses ben Zevi Hirsch ha-Levi is described on the title page as rabbi in Yanova, in the vicnity of Brisk, Litta ands afterwards rav and av bet din in Leshutz in Moravia. He was a descendant of R. Jonah Nahum, brother of the Shakh (R. Shabbetai ben Meir Ha-Kohen) and son-in-law of R. Samuel Kaidenower (Birkat ha-Zevah).
