Novellae to the tractates of the order Nezikin by R. Samuel b. Joseph Shattin ha-Kohen (Maharshashakh; d. 1719), an outstanding erudite German scholar. He was rabbi of Frankfurt am Main and Darmstadt.

והוא חלק הראשון מן חידושי מהרשש"ך [ר' שמואל שאטין עהן] ... על ... שבע מסכתות אלו, והן: שלש בבות, סנהדרין, מכות, שבועות, ע"ז [עבודה זרה]. והן הן אשר העלו ע"י פלפול מישיבת חכמים בתרביץ התלמידים והחברים המקשיבים בבית המדרש הגדול שבק"ק פרנקפורט דמיין ...

בראשי העמודים: חידושי מהרשש"ך. מתוך הקדמת המחבר: למדנו בעיון רב שנים עשר מסכתות, סדר נזיקי[ן] כולו שהן ז מסכתות, ומסדר נשים שלש מסכתו[ת] שהן כתובו[ת] גיטין קידושין, ומסדר מועד שתי[ם] והן ר"ה [ראש השנה] ביצה. ואני בעטי חקקתי על הספר ... כל מה שהעליתי לפי קט עיוני על כל מסכתו[ת] הנ"ל.
