Only edition of this commentary on the Torah and discourses by R. David ben Saul Kohen. There is an introduction in which the paragraphs conclude with David, followed by approbations from r. Joseph berabi, R. Mordecai Cemos, and R. Sassoon Kohen, all Sephardi tohar and all from Djera. The text follows, comprised of the Torah commentary, brief commentaries on Nevi’im, a lengthier commentary on Psalms, then Ketuvim, the Haggadah, on tractates of the Talmud, dinnim, novella arranged alphabetically, and shirim. The second part of Misgav la-dakh-Mekom Daṿid is discourses.

In addition to the intrinsic value of Misgav la-dakh-Mekom Daṿid of interest also is the printer, David Aydan (1873–1954). He was a Tunisian rabbi and printer, born in Djerba and a founder of the Zionist movement Ateret Zion (1919). He acquired a printing press in Tunis, and in 1912 founded the first Hebrew printing press at Djerba, to which he gave the name Defus Ziyyoni (Zion Press). The first work which came off this press was Me'il Ya'akov by R. Jacob ha-Kohen. He opened two more presses in Djerba, publishing more than 1,000 works by rabbis from Djerba, Tunis, and the rest of North Africa. One of these presses was still functioning in the late 1960s.
