Only edition of this very rare instructive ethical work on overcoming the yetzer by R. Shalom ha-Kohen Shain. The title-page informs that R. Shin was the rav of Rina in Serbia. There is an introduction by R. Shain in which he begins, “Who is wealthy, it is the man who puts in his heart continuously to fulfil the oath that he made at the time of his birth, in addition to the oath at Har Sinai (referencing Nidah 30b, and aggadot Maharshah there) to keep the Torah (Menahot 99b) and to cherish the soul that the Lord gave him . . .” R. Shain continues quoting the Jerusalem Talmud the Zohar, all suggestive of this rich and moving, clearly written ethical work.
