Detail Description

Rare and only edition of this kabbalistic work on the Sefer Yetzirah by R. Isaac Eisek ben Jekutiel Zalman but attributed on the title-page to Avraham Avinu. R. Isaac
Eisek is identified on the title-page as being from Mohilev and the author of Baer Yitzhak in the Tikkunei Zohar. It is dated in the year “The people I formed for Myself That they might declare My praise עם זו יצרתי לי תהלתי יספרו (558 = 1798)” (Isaiah 43:21). There is an approbation from R. Benjamin Broda, an introduction from the author, a section entitled Hiddushim מגפ"ת (gemara, perush Rashi, and Tosafot) and then the text. It begins with Seder Zera’im on Sefer Yetzirah on Avraham Avinu concluding with a six page chart of malbush elyon partsuf keter panim.  Next is Seder Mo’ed followed by the other Sedarim. A serious kabbalistic work for students of that exoteric and holy study.

The Book of Creation, the earliest extant Hebrew text of systematic, speculative thought. Its brevity - no more than 1,600 words altogether even in its longer version - allied to its obscure and at the same time laconic and enigmatic style, as well as its terminology, have no parallel in other works on related subjects. The result of all these factors was that for over 1,000 years the book was expounded in a great many different ways, and not even the scientific investigations conducted during the 19th century succeeded in arriving at unambiguous and final results.
