Detail Description

Letter by R. Israel Isaac b. Netanal ha-Levi Reizman (1889-1969) was an erudite Talmudic scholar and a longtime member of the Bet Din Zedek in Jerusalem. R. Reizman was born and raised in the old city of Jerusalem and was a disciple of many hasidic rebbes and Sewphardic kabbalist. A widely respected posek, he wrote many responsa on contemporary issues, many printed in period rabbinical magazines.

Also signed by R. Yisroel b. Moshe Shneer Zalman Grossman, (1923-2007), rabbinic scholar, Rosh Yeshiva of Pinsk-Karlin and of the Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Israel for many years, rabbi of Bet Din in Jerusalem. R Grossman was born in Jerusalem in 1923 and was educated in its instutions. At age 27 he was appointed Rosh Yeshiva of Karlin Stolin by R. Yochanon. After R. Boruch Shimon Schneerson left his position in the Lubavitcher Yeshiva to head the Tshebiner Yeshiva, R. Grossman was asked to take his place in the yeshiva in Kfar Chabad.

He exerted all his energy in strengthening the yeshiva and instill a spirit of learning Torah with Chassidic enthusiasm. When his son Rabbi Yitzchok Dovid Grossman Shlitah founded the Migdal Ohe institutions in Migdal Haemek he helped him and thanks to him Migdal Ohr has become a fortress of Torah in Israel. R. Grossman was also a member of the Beth Din of Agudath Israel in Jerusalem and authored many books on monetary issues which have been very helpful to judges dealing with monetary cases.
