Detailed Description:

Children’s newspaper and comic book Ezboni. The newspaper is dated Wednesday 26 Iyyar 736 (26 May, 1976) no. 8-504. The accompanying comic book has the same volume number. The word Ezboni begins in both with a child riding a hobbyhorse. The newspaper, one sheet (4 pages) has varied articles written on a children’s level, several of series content, for example, on the first page is an article on the Kafir jet fighter, with a picture of the plane. On the last page is an illustrated scientific experiment. On the inner pages are articles and pictures about animals and an article about men walking on the moon or in space. The comic book has a colorful cover of a boy and girl walking with geese. The text begins with greetings, Shalom yeled, shalom yaldah and a discussion of the forty days that Moses was on Mt. Sinai receiving the Ten Commandments. The facing page has a picture of a girl with a basket of fruit and discusses Bikkurim and the festival of Shavu’ot. The following pages have an article on shepherds and shearing sheep and a little girl who comes to visit, with illustrations. Next is a discussion of why the Jews did not receive the Torah immediately upon leaving Egypt. There is a comic strip about Moogli (the jungle book hero), submissions from young readers in the second and third grades, puzzles, another comic strip about an Indian, a crossword puzzle, and a picture to be colored in by the reader. The back cover gives the 1976 price as 4 lira.
