Detail Description
Travels in Jewry, covering ""some thirty Jewish communities in different parts of Europe"", mostly between the first and second World Wars, is a verbose, diffuse narrative. Descriptions
of synagogues, ghettos, business enterprises and the treatment of the Jews under various governments is sandwiched between excessive details about hotels, railroads, and restaurants, and further hampered by an archaic prose style and a Zionist bias which excludes
assimilationist Jews and thus leaves the picture incomplete. Only the reader with sufficient background in Jewish history and expressions will find this a partial supplement of events and personalities.
