Maimonides introduction to Pirke Avot in Hebrew with Yiddish translation. The Shemonah Perakim, which forms the introduction to his commentary on Avot is almost a draft of the first portion of Sefer Madda, the first book of the Mishneh Torah. In Shemonah Perakim Maimonides presents a philosophical and ethical introduction to Avot, while simultaneously reviewing and presenting an overview of Talmudic history. There is an introduction from the translator followed by the text, which is in unvocalized square letters. The Hebrew text and the translation appear on opposite pages. The translation, although in a smaller font, is in square Hebrew letters.
