Kabbalistic work attributed to the Tanna Rabbi Ishmael Kohen Gadol. The title-page informs that it is comprised of thirty chapters and includes a tefilla from that Tanna. Sefer Heikhalot (palaces) is based on III Enoch and begins by describing the vision of Enoch, as told by R. Ishmael, when Enoch ascended on high and beheld the vision of the Merkavah. Enoch would enter the six halls and, upon reaching the seventh hall lifted up his eyes and prayed. Enoch is transformed into the angel Metatron.
