Detailed Description:
Midrashic anthology to the Bible. The Yalkut is the best known and most comprehensive Midrashic anthology, covering the whole Bible. Much has been written as to the identity of the Author or age of the work. It ranges from 980 to 1500 with the 13th century as the last date. Nothing is known of the Author, R. Simeon the Preacher of Frankfurt, attributions to other well known authors have all been dis-proven.

עם הקדמה, מאת ר’ אברהם ישראל ב"ר יעקב קאפיל ב"ר אהרן מירלש לוי העליר, מגיה הספר.
ההקדמה כוללת גם דברי-תורה: "וכבר נדפס קושי’ זו על שמי בספר הרבות עם פירוש ידי משה [מדרש רבות, פרנקפורט דאדרה תס"ה] באשר שהייתי בעל הג"ה בספר ההוא, ע"ש בפרשת מטות".
חלק ב: ילקוט חלק שני מנביאים וכתובים. קץ דף.
בשער חלק ב: "והוגה ... עם נוסחאות שונים כפי שמצאנו בילקוט הנדפס בעיר ... ליוורנו, ובילקוט אשר נדפס בעיר לובלין ע"י ... ר’ מאיר בן ... ר’ פתחיה זצ"ל וכל דבר הקשה הביא לפני ... ר’ העשיל זצ"ל שהי’ כעת[!] אב"ד ור"מ לובלין".
האמת היא, שהוצאה זו נדפסה דף על דף על-פי ההוצאה הקודמת: ורנקבורט דמיין תמ"ז, שנדפסה על-פי דפוס לובלין ת"ג (בתוספת מדפוס ליוורנו), ושמו של ר’ העשיל כלל אינו נזכר בדפוסים הנז’.
