Detail Description

Sale catalogue of rare and valuable books from Jakob ha-Kohen Ginzburg in Barbirusk. The pink front-wrapper is in Hebrew and Cyrillic and lists the catalogue as no. 9. The first page begins with a notice to buyers listing conditions of sale and information. The contents are comprised of 760 books, among them some manuscripts (731-760) and an addenda of eight items from the bookseller. Entries are organized alphabetically, each item description comprised of the item number, the name of the book, place of publication, occasionally the date, and the price, for example, 385 No’am Elimelech, Lemberg, 4 50; 387 Nahalat Shivah Nusahei Shtarot and Gittin, Berlin 1803 4 75; and 565 Bisamin Rosh attributed to the Rosh, poor condition Berlin 1792 50 1. Parenthetically, this last title is considered, as the catalogue accurately states,  to be a forgery.
