Detail Description

Only edition of this commentary on Torah, Prophets, and Ketuvim by R. Jehiel Moses Gruenwald (c. 1820-c.1910) rabbi of Adamow. The title-page informs that Mishenet Moshe contains precious novella on aggadadot and halakhah from numerous zaddikim. The reason he has entitled this work Mishenet Moshe is because he trusts in the Lord to be a mishenet (support, staff, ref. II Kings 18:21) and his primary name is Moses (Moshe), for the the admor R. Simhah Bunuim said to his father who is called Hirshila Dishkis at my berit and he called my name Jehiel Mo and said clearly that Jehiel Moses (long live Moses) and “Keep this great kindness (cf. I Kings 3:6) for as I was called God should give me length of days and years and I should merit seeing the coming redemption shortly. There are approbations from R. Moses Solomon ha-Kohen, R Yerachmiel Isaiah Mintzborg, R. Samuel Jacob Koppel ha-Kohen, and R. Hayyim ben Shabbetai Fuenn. Next is the R. Gruenwald’s introduction and then the text. Mishenet Moshe is comprised of discourses on the weekly Torah portion, on tanakh, a section entitled Avodat Issachar Imrei Noam, a ma’amar from the grandson of he rav ha-kodesh from Lubavitch, novella on tractates, and responsa.
