Detail Description

Peshatim and derash on the weekly Torah readings by R. Isaac ben Moses Merinholts. Torat Yitzhak has a subtitle that describes it as a precious work on the Humische Humsche Torah, attractive and pleasing explanations more than fine gold and pearls, also sharp and deep analysis. Torat Yitzhak was brought to press by the author’s son, R. Meir Merinholts and his talmud R. Nahman Rathbard. This is followed by a title-page for the first part, that is, on Bereishit; each Torah book having its own title-page. There is a brief forward introduction from R. Jacob and R. Meir Merinholts, the author’s sons, followed by several approbations and then an introduction from R. Merinholts’ sons that begins with an anagram that spells Yitzhak, and then the text in which the first letter of the forst word of the first four paragraphs also spells Yitzhak. The commentary is, as described on the title-page, rich and varied, and includes quotes from the Zohar.

First edition, Friedberg lists an 1891 edition which does not appear in any libraries or bibliographies.
