Detail Description
Kabbalistic liturgies to be recited on the eve preceeding the circumcision ceremomny, following the customs of Erez Israel and Turkey. Corrected and appended by R. Isaac Judah Leon Templo with dedication by Daniel Perira in Portuguese. A popular work on berit milah, the title page states that it is learning for the eighth night prior to the boy entering into the berit. It is according to the enactments and customs of Eretz Israel and Turkey. The volume includes selections from the Bible, Talmud, Midrashim, and Zohar primarily relating to the circumcision of a Jewish child, the first step in his consecration into the Covenant of Abraham. It notes that the occasion has solemnities, refers to the Shalom Zachar (peqce boy), indicting that by his advent into the world he is the bearer of peace. It informs that the night prior to circumcision was a night of watching, spent in meditation of Scriptures and Talmudic passages, such as are to be found in the volume. The text, which is set in attractive font includes a wide variety of information on the well being of the child, milah, halakhot, and customs.
