First edition of these novellae on the Shulhan Arukh Yoreh De’ah by R. Moses ben Abraham me-Geza Zevi. Brought to press by the author’s grandson, the title page states that R. Moses was av bet din and rosh mesivta in Horodna (Grodno) in Lita. The contents are novellae on the pilpulim in the poskim, earlier and later (rishonim and ahronim). Tiferet le-Moshe, along with other works by the author, written more than a hundred years ago, were by this grandson. Because of the difficulties of the time it was not possible to publish them until now, when they are being brought to press to benefit the public. The book has been entitled Tiferet le-Moshe because that title includes the writer’s name Solomon (Shelomo, by inverting the letters of Moshe) “and the glory (tiferet) of children are their fathers” (Proverbs 17:6). There are approbations from R. Zevi Hirsch Levin, R. Ezekiel Segal Landau, and R. Raphael Kohen, followed by the introduction by R. Solomon ben Hayyim, the grandson. The text begins with hilkhot shehitah and concludes with hilkhot aveilot. At the end are eulogies.
