Detail Description

All of the Megillot with commentaries compiled by R. Moses Aryeh ben Zeʼev and his own commentary, Beer Sheva. This volume includes all the megillot, in contrast to the NYPL library record which states that it “Lacks Megilat Rut.” The title-page describes Ḥamesh Megilot as being comprised of the commentaries of Rashi, R. Jedidiah Solomon Raphael Norzi’s Minhat Shai, and R. Moses Aryeh’s Beer Sheva. The verso of the title-page has the censor’s approval followed by the text, beginning with Shir ha-Shirim. The text is comprised of the Megillah at the top of the page in square vocalized letters, below it Rahsis commentary and then in two columns Minhat Shai and Beer Sheva, all in rabbinic letters. Beer Sheva is an detailed, comprehensive, and thorough commentary.
