Description

Physical Description:

First edition, octavo, 48 ff. 215:123 mm., light age and damp staining, nice margins. A good copy bound in modern cloth over boards.

Detailed Description:

First edition of these popular Hassidic tales of zaddikim by R. Dov Baer ben Samuel Ehrman concerning Maharam Ṭ.B. (R. Moses Teitelbaum) and his grandson R. Dov ben Rahel the Ba’al Yetev Lev. There is a red outer wrapper and then the title-page which describes this work as part one – it is not appear that there was a part two, and informs that Peʼer ṿe-khavod is comprised of wondrous stories from the kiddusehi elyon and the earlier geonim, of which the author has  already printed small amounts. The text is in two parts, sipporim from the Ba’al Yetev Lev at the top of the page and below it additional tales from other sources, such as from Maraslav and Kaminka, ha-rav mharipshitz, Belz, and many others.
