Rare collection of discourses on varied subjects from such sources on Torah works and the saying of rabbinic sages in the Talmud, Midrashim, Zohar, Tikkunei Zohar, Eliyahu Rabbah and Zotra, and the works of rishonim, and novellae from gemara, Rashi’s commentary, and Tosephot. All of this, according to the title-page, built upon “sockets of fne gold” (Shir ha-Shirim 5:15), the words of sages, the works of mekubbalim. The author, R. Joseph ben Abraham Isaiah Polner, was from Lomza. The verso of the title-page has the disclaimer that references to goi or akum do not refer to contemporary non-Jews but to those in the time of the Mishnah. There are several pages of approbations, followed by the introduction of the discourses, one hundred fifty-six in number, encompassing a wide range of subjects and organized by source, those noted above. An unusually rich and varied work.
