Letter by R. Hayyim Ya'akov Naphtali b. Abraham Benjamin Silberberg (1850-1930) dayyan and prominent Warsaw rabbi. R. Silberberg was born in Sieradz, Russia and studied with the Hafez Hayyim. He was a disciple of R. Yisrael Salanter and the Beis HaLevi. He was a confidante of the Netziv of Volozhin and the Hofetz Hayyim. R. He was active in strengthening Shabbat observance and famiy purity and printed placards appealing to the public to strengthen their adherence to halacha. He published the manuscripts of his father, Rabbi Avraham Binyamin av"d of וויערשוב, and the manuscripts of his grandfather, the gaon of Kutna, author of Zayit Ra'anan.
