[1] p., 299:234 mm., ink on paper, neat Ashkenazi Rabbinic script, usual age staining, creased on folds, signed and dated in acrostic.

 

Detail Description

Letter by R. Judah Leib Konigsberger (1791-1861), student and disciple of the Hatam Sofer, first rabbi of the Szombathely community which separated from the Rechnitz community and became independent in 1830. R. Konigsberger also studied with R. Shalom Ullman and was ordained by R. Mordecai Banet and the Hatam Sofer.
