Detail Description

Joseph Hraschanzky (1752-1806) Talmud edition of 1791–97. Hraschanzky, using a Frankfort on the Main font, opened a Hebrew department in Vienna. Among his great achievements were an entire edition of the Babylonian Talmud. The Hraschanzky press was large, operating as many as 17 printing-presses. Given the beauty of the work, fine letters, good paper and important approbations, this edition was sold out as soon as it was printed.
