Important letter describing the distribution of their recently deceased Father's holy objects.

 

Detail Description

Family letter by R. Eliezer Zeev b. Meir Rosenbaum, Admor of  Kretchinef  (1880-1944) He was born and educated in Nadvorna. R. Eliezer Zeev took over his father's position as Admor of Kretchinef. He asserted huge efforts to cultivate a personal connection with his followers, and during his lifetime, the Kretchinef hasidic movement broadened considerably. He was the most widely accepted Admor [Hasidic Rebbe] among the many descendants of R. Mordechai of Nadvorna, most of whom lived in various places in broader historical Hungary. R. Eliezer Zeev was a miracle worker, and gave out prescriptions to the ill. Towards the end of the First World War he moved to Sziget. During World War 2, he was deported from Sziget to Auschwitz.

 

Hebrew Description

רבי אליעזר זאב רוזנבוים (תר"מ, 1880 - כ"ז אייר תש"ד, 20 במאי 1944) היה האדמו"ר השני בחסידות קרעטשניף. נולד לרבי מאיר מקרעטשניף ולשפרה (נכדת רבי חיים טירר מצ'רנוביץ, בעל 'באר מים חיים'), נקרא על שם סבו רבי אליעזר זאב מבוטשעטש. בגיל 15 נישא לחיה ביילא בתו של רבי ניסן חיים לנגנויער (חתן רבי אהרן אריה לייב לייפר) שהיה אב בית דין בעיירה נדבורנה. לאחר נישואיו, עבר לגור לצד חותנו בנדבורנה ומילא את מקום רבי משה לייפר (דוד אשתו) באדמו"רות. לאחר פטירת אביו מילא את מקומו בקרעטשניף.

בפרוץ מלחמת העולם השנייה הוגלה עם שאר תושבי סיגעט לאושוויץ. בנוסעו ברכבת לאושוויץ הסמיך את בן זקוניו רבי דוד משה לכהן כממלא מקומו. נרצח באושוויץ ביום כ"ז באייר ה'תש"ד.
