Detail Description

R. Yerahmiel Judah Meir Kalish of Amshinov (1901-27 Iyyar 1976) -son of R. Simon Shalom, he was born in Przysucha. On his mother's side, he was a descendant of the "Holy Jew." During the Second World War, he escaped to Vilna, then to Shanghai, and, after the war, to New York. He then emigrated to Israel in 1958, and after living for some time in Holon, established a yeshivah, Shem Olam, in Jerusalem. He printed his father's works. His personal sufferings were masked by a smiling face and pleasant manner. He was buried on Har HaMenuhot in Jerusalem. His son-in-law, R. Hayyim Malikovsky, is the head of the yeshivah.
