[2], 9, 50, [1 map 550:335 mm.], 264:210 mm., extra wide margins, light age, food & wine staining. A very good copy bound in modern calf over boards, elaborate hand tooling in blind and gold.

Beautiful wide margined copy with the oft lacking map.

 

Detail Description

Beautifully illustrated haggadah with commentaries of Alsheich, Gevurot ha-Shem, Ollelot Ephraim, instructions in Judeo-German.. Attached at the end is the map of the Bnei Yisro'el's 40 year journey through the dessert and Erez Israel engraved from the Amsterdam 1712 edition. Likewise all the 1712 copperplate engravings are herein incorporated. This edition or parts thereof were subsequently reproduced in hundreds of haggadot over the next 200 years.

והוא סדר הגדה של פסח עם פירושים... משלשה עמודי עולם. ה"ה מהר"ם [משה] אלשיך. גבורות ה' [לר' יהודה ליווא ב"ר בצלאל], עוללות אפרים [לר' שלמה אפרים איש לונטשיץ] ופירוש אברבנאל על החרוז אז רוב ואומץ גבורתך[!]. ופירוש (מטה אהרן [לר' אהרן תאומים]) על חד גדיא. ודיני בדיקת חמץ, תענית בכורות, לישת מצות, הגעלה וסדר של פסח. ונוסף בו סדר הקרבת קרבן פסח ושיר השירים בסוף... ובציורים... עם תרגום אשכנזי [גרמנית באותיות צו"ר] מן ר' יואל ברי"ל ור' דוד פרידלענדר, כמו שנדפס בברלין [תקמ"ה]. והערות על התרגום האשכנזי... דפוס האלמנה ובנה מהמנוח יעקב פרופס כ"ץ, בשנת זה ה'ש'ע'ר' לה' לפ"ג

קדם שער קצר: בית ישראל בית חורין. הגדה של פסח עם תרגום אשכנזי... הדינים, הפירושים והציורים (פיתוחי-נחושת) כמו בהגדה מעלה בית חורין, אמשטרדם תקמ"א. ההגדה בנוסח האשכנזים. התרגום וההערות על התרגום הם של יואל בריל בלבד ואין לדוד פרידלענדר חלק בהם. דף ח,ב (מן הספירה הראשונה): "סימן לסדר הפסח ברמזים. כאשר בפסח מעובין [ויניציאה תנ"ב] מצאתי בחרוזים". פותח: "לבל ימוט נצח. כלל סדר פסח" (מאת ר' יהושע רפאל בנבנשתי). המפה בסוף הספר, מסעי ישראל במדבר וחלוקת הארץ לשבטיה, היא של אברהם בר יעקב, מהוצאת אמשטרדם תנ"ה.
